BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 21. The people of Georgia are striving for political independence, Georgian expert Tamta Megrelishvili told Trend.

“The involvement of external entities, particularly the US and Europe, in the internal matters of the Georgian state is highly objectionable. Their calls for the repeal of laws concerning transparency and the safeguarding of family values illustrate a clear instance of political pressure originating from Western influences. There are assertions that adopting these laws will lead to punitive consequences,” Megrelishvili noted.

The expert pointed out that the West is trying to pull the strings in the country's electoral process.

In her view, the stance of the Western players shows they’re missing the boat on the subtleties of the elections, stirring the pot and pushing the opposition to rally the troops in the streets, which is all part of the grand scheme cooked up by the US and Europe.

She mentioned that if the West turns a blind eye to the results of the parliamentary elections in Georgia, it will open the floodgates for the opposition and spark a wave of protests, which will serve as a breeding ground for revolutionary fervor in the country.

"The “United National Movement” is stirring the pot with its reckless policies, pushing for chaos and ruin, all while leaning on outside influences. But it can't pull the wool over the eyes of the Georgian people. Even with the heat turned up, Georgia will rise to the occasion and navigate these man-made hurdles, standing tall against destructive opposition,” the expert concluded.
