BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 21. Russia and Kyrgyzstan have great potential for expanding cooperation, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a joint meeting of the country’s government and the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.

He stated that Russia and Kyrgyzstan have considerable potential to augment collaboration, especially in finance, industry, agriculture, energy, transportation, and digital technology.

"Our trade collaboration is progressing at an advantageous rate. During the initial eight months of this year, trade turnover rose by 16 percent. The proportion of the ruble in reciprocal transactions approached 90 percent. We aim to sustain this trend to guarantee steady and predictable business conditions," Mishustin said.

The PM also underscored Russia's pivotal role in bolstering Kyrgyzstan's energy security, making it clear that every cloud has a silver lining when it comes to collaboration.

"During the St. Petersburg Economic Forum in June, long-term contracts for the supply of Russian natural gas to the northern and southern regions of your country were signed. The establishment of a small-capacity nuclear power plant based on a Russian project and the construction of solar power stations were also discussed. Additionally, an industrial cluster for producing essential components for such modules is being formed," he added.
