Azerbaijan’s Salyan Oil Ltd, which is developing the Kursangi and Garabagli onshore fields, has produced more than 120,000 tons of oil since early 2017, a source in the country’s oil and gas market told Trend Oct. 2.
“Production can be maintained at a stable level thanks to perforation and capital overhaul of wells. Meanwhile, new wells are not currently being drilled. In total, there are 805 wells at the block, and currently, production is being conducted at 255 of them. In general, it is expected that the production plan will be implemented with minor errors by the end of the year,” noted the source.
Salyan Oil plans to produce 175,000 tons of oil at the Kursangi and Garabagh fields in 2017.
The founders of Salyan Oil are Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and the China National Oil & Gas Exploration and Development Corporation.
