Propane production increases in 3rd phase of Iran’s South Pars Field

Propane production in the 6th, 7th and 8th phases of Iran's South Pars Gas Field has increased by 33 percent, said Behzad Salari, head of the 4th gas plant at the South Pars Gas Company, Trend reports referring to ILNA.

Salari stated that growth was registered during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018).

He added that, the sour gas production of the 4th gas processing plant increased by more than 10 percent within an 11-month period, compared to the same period last year.

Salari said that the plant's butane production increased by 20 percent over the mentioned period.

It is estimated that, with the commissioning of all phases of the South Pars Gas Field, Iran's gas production may reach 1.2 billion cubic meters per day.

Currently, Iran's daily gas production is said to be over 800 million cubic meters.

South Pars/North Dome Gas Condensate Field is jointly operated by Iran and Qatar.
