By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

A solar panel plant that can generate 20 kilowatt hours of electricity has been commissioned in the District No. 3 of Iran’s Gas Transmission Company in order to save energy consumption, use alternative energy and prevent greenhouse gas emissions, Moghaddam Biklarian, deputy director of engineering and technical services at District No. 3 of Iran’s Gas Transmission Company, Trend reports via Shana news agency.

He said considering that there are in average 300 sunny days in the year, at least 30 megawatt-hours of electricity will be produced annually.

“Considering that this plant is connected to the power grid and has no batteries, there will be no repair expenditures during the lifecycle of this plant,” he said.

He added that at least 700 grams of carbon dioxide is emitted into the atmosphere with every kilowatt-hour of electricity produced by fossil fuel power plants. He noted that this solar panel plant will prevent emission of 21 tons of greenhouse gas per year.
