Croatia significantly increases crude oil imports from Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug.27

Croatia imported 1,123,800 tons of crude oil from Azerbaijan from January through June 2020, as compared to 91,000 tons for the same period of 2019, Eurostat told Trend.

The country imported 84,600 tons of crude oil from Azerbaijan in January 2020, 90,500 tons in February, 166,600 tons in March, 346,000 tons in April, 166,500 tons in May and 269,600 tons in June.

This is while in 2019, Croatia imported 91,000 tons in May, 162,000 tons in July, 86,000 tons in August, 192,000 tons in September, 82,000 tons in October and 276,000 tons in November.

Azerbaijan exported 2,023,202 tons of crude oil to EU countries in January 2020 and 2,112,208 tons in February 2020.

Azerbaijan exported 19.5 million tons of oil from January through July 2020, which is 0.02 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, according to the statistical report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the report, the total volume of exports of petroleum products in the reporting period amounted to $6.3 billion, showing an annual decrease of 48.6 percent.

During seven months of 2020, the volume of exports of petroleum products amounted to almost 705,797 tons, which is 15.4 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
