BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 26. Iran’s Ramin Thermal Power Plant in the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) generated 2.06 million megawatt-hours of electricity, during the first three months of current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2022), Executive Director of Ramin TPP, Khalil Mohammadi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
According to the director, due to the large industrial facilities in Khuzestan Province and the rapid warming in the province this year, high electricity consumption in the province began earlier, which shows the importance of sustainability in electricity generation.
Mohammadi also added that the unit No. 3 of the Ramin TPP, which has capacity to generate 305-megawatt-hours of electricity was overhauled, while other units were repaired in a short time.
Iran's Ramin Thermal Power Plant is considered the largest TPP in Iran. This thermal power plant has 6 steam units each capacity of 315 megawatt-hours. The power plant can generate a total of 1,850 megawatt-hours of electricity.
