Azerbaijan Appeals for Oil Pumping via Baku-Novorossiysk in 1Q of 2007

In the first quarter of 2007 it is planned to deliver 400,000 tons of oil a month via the via the Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) stated that part of the volume will be pumped by the AIOC and the other part by SOCAR, Trend reports.

AIOC enjoys exclusive rights to pumping its own oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk route, as it is the operator of the pipeline. Following the cessation of the Baku-Supsa pipeline for repair, in December the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) will transport oil produced from Chirag via this route.

In November SOCAR sold 1,204mln tons of oil from Novorossiysk. Two cargoes (584mln tons and 620mln tons) were purchased by Glencore Energy UK Ltd. The shipment was carried out on 7-8 November and 18-19November.

During 2005, SOCAR shipped 1,631mln ton of oil from Novorossiysk compared to 2,559mln ton in 2004.

From the early 2006 SOCAR old oil loads to the following companies in Novorossiysk:

January Glencore (85,000 ton);

February Taurus Petroleum (140,000 ton); Glencore (60,000 ton);

May - Glencore (60,000 ton);

June Glencore (60,000 ton);

July - Glencore (60,000 ton);

August - Glencore (131,000 ton); Select Energy (78,000 ton);

September - Reoc Ltd. (85,000 ton); Vitol (85,000 ton).

October - Sun Oil S.A. (160,000 tons);

October - REOC Ltd. (135,000 tons);

November - Glencore Energy UK Ltd (165,000 tons)
