Sabir Ilyasov, the Deputy General Director of the Azerbaijan State Air Company AZAL, informed Trend on 31 January that this year AZAL intends to conclude the reconstruction of an airport in Lankaran, South Azerbaijan. The project on upgrade of an airport is estimated to approximately $40mln. The funds are allocated out of the pubic budget and AZAL. The work to be done here covers the extension of the landing strip, replacement of outdated system of air traffic management and the reconstruction of airport complex. Earlier the State Company reconstructed airports holing international status in Nakhchivan and Ganja.
