Georgia, Tbilisi /corr. Trend N.Kirskhalia / The Infrastructure Minister of Israel, Binyamin Ben-Elizer, who is on visit to Tbilisi, said at a briefing in the Embassy of Israel in Georgia that Israel is interested in receiving gas from the Azerbaijani field of Shah Deniz. He was invited by the Energy Minister of Georgia, Niko Giluari and has been in Georgia since 2 July. He has already met with the President and Prime Minister of Georgia and discussed issues on strengthening relations.
The Israeli Minister said that during his meeting in Tbilisi, he discussed with the Head of Georgia the issue of transporting Azerbaijani gas to Israel via the territory of Georgia.
"In addition, Israel is in talks on gas delivery with Egypt, but talks are also conducted with other countries, including Georgia, to diversify deliveries," the Minister said.
