Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) completed drilling of a new exploratory well in the south of West Absheron field, according to SOCAR. At present the information revealed at the well is being studied.
Depending on the result it will be decided whether to drill further exploratory wells in this area. Most likely, drilling will be continued, according to SCOAR.
SCOAR intends to implement the program on development of this part of the field. The first platform was set to link up three drilled gas wells. They were drilled and temporary closed down. The target debit will make up 250,000 cu m of gas per 24 hours. That will enable turn to a new production method -gas lift.
Assessment of reserves of this field revealed possible 10mln tons of oil.
