Volume of trade between Kazakhstan and Georgia down (Exclusive)

The volume of trade between Kazakhstan and Georgia for 7 months of 2019 amounted to $44.3 million, which is 11.8 percent less than the same period last year, the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan told Trend.

“Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Georgia have been established since 1992. Since then, we have been continuously developing our trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation on the principles of partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation,” said the ministry official.

It was noted that during this time a solid legal base has been created, agreements have been concluded on the main areas of cooperation.

In the bilateral relations of the two countries, one of the important areas of cooperation is the creation of joint ventures, the creation of an enabling environment for mutually beneficial business development.

According to the ministry, as of August 1, 2019, Kazakhstan has 114 legal entities, branches and representative offices with Georgian participation and 49 joint companies.

“We can say with confidence that our relations are in rather high positions,” the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted.
