Turnover of non-profit organizations in Georgia increases

The turnover of the non-profit organizations in Georgia amounted to $137.6 million in 2018, which is 35.5 percent more than in 2017, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Statistical Office (Geostat).

The largest share of the turnover was in the education sector (36.9 percent). Meanwhile, in health and social services sector it reached 23.7 percent, in entertainment and recreation sector - 18.3 percent, in various services - 8.7 percent, in professional, scientific and technical activities sector - 5 percent, in information and communication sector - 4.1 percent.

The volume of production in the non-profit sector in 2018 amounted to $1.07 billion, which is 10.8 percent more than in previous year.

The largest share of workers was in education sector (29.2 percent), in entertainment and recreation sectors - 23 percent, in health and social services sector - 14.6 percent.

The number of employees in non-profit organizations in 2018 increased by 0.3 percent to 53,000 people compared to 2017, of which 53.3 percent are women and 46.7 percent are men.
