BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. The inflation rate in Iran increased by 34.7 percent in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022), compared to the same month preceding the Iranian year, Trend reports referring to the Statistical Center of Iran.
The statistics show that families spent an average of 34.7 percent more on some products and services compared to the same month of the last Iranian year.
The inflation on food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 40.7 percent in the 12th month, while in the non-food and services sector was 31.4 percent, according to the statistics.
“In general, the inflation rate in Iran for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022) reached 40.2 percent. The highest inflation rate was recorded in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (48.2 percent), while the lowest - in Hamadan Province (36.3 percent),” the statistics said.
