Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 April / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The Azerbaijani Communication and IT Ministry proposed to increase tariffs on some postal services, Ali Abbasov, Communication Minister of Azerbaijan stated.
"The state of Azerbaijani postal service is not good. Post system cannot work profitably," he said.
Minister did not detail concrete figures that was proposed to the Council of Tariffs, but stated that several tariffs would be increased by 50%.
The project 'Development of financial services', being implemented in the State-run enterprise Azerpocht jointly with World Bank, according to the Minister, caused to develop the proposals.
However, Abbasov considers that the traditional postal services are less than of net cost.
Another problem of the postal system is low percentage of communal payments in regions of the country, Abbasov said.
