The number of e-health cards issued to parents of newborns increased by 2.5 percent in Azerbaijan in January-March 2018 compared to the figure in early 2018, the Health Informatization Center of the Azerbaijani Health Ministry told Trend April 3.
According to the Health Informatization Center, the number of e-health cards issued in January-March increased by 30,516 and reached 1,264,981.
Moreover, since early 2018, the Center has issued 2,196 e-health cards to the patients with diabetes mellitus who receive free medicines. In total, 102,173 e-health cards were issued to the patients with diabetes mellitus.
E-health cards contain information about the identity of the card holder, medical and social insurance and other data. Information is included in a single database of medical institutions through a local network.
