The Azerbaijani Minister of Communication & Information Technology, Ali Abbasov, stated that all Internet servers with the domain AZ will be transferred to Azerbaijan in the near future, Trend reports.
According to him, the management of these servers will be held. By our order, the domains AZ will be delivered by the Company Intrans, the Minister stated.
Previously a Special Public Council for Co-ordination of Domain Activities had been created from representatives of state bodies, private sector and scientific-educational institutions.
Since 1993, the number of registrations at the domain AZ in Azerbaijan has exceeded 3,000.
From October 1st 2006, the tariffs for registration and maintenance of domains in Azerbaijan have decreased by 33%. The national domain AZ was registered on August 25th 1993.
