Uzbekistan to issue residence permit to citizens of more than 100 countries

The residence permits in Uzbekistan will be issued to citizens of 111 countries subject to the acquisition of real estate, Trend reports with reference to the decree of the president of Uzbekistan on the accelerated development of tourism in the country.

These countries include Australia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Hungary, Georgia, Canada, Denmark, Spain, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Norway, Thailand, Sweden, India, Korea, Singapore, Russia, Japan, the United States and others.

In particular, a residence permit is issued when the real estate in the amount equivalent to at least $400,000 is purchased in the Tashkent region and the city of Tashkent, and in the amount equivalent to at least $200,000 in Samarkand, Bukhara, Namangan, Andijan, Fergana and Khorezm regions.

Regarding other areas of the country, a residence permit may be obtained in the case of the purchase of real estate in the amount equivalent to at least $100,000.

Furthermore, now the citizens of these countries can provide the services of guides after they receive a diploma of higher or secondary specialized vocational education or a certificate of retraining in the "guide” profile.

Previously, this activity could be provided only by the persons who had a qualification certificate issued by the State Committee for Tourism Development.
