Kazakhstan's revenue from transporting cargo via internal water surges

Kazakhstan’s revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via internal water transport amounted to 274.7 million tenges ($649,560) over eight months of 2020, which is 1.8 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The revenue in Aug. 2020 amounted to 61.8 million tenges ($146,130) which are 12.2 percent less compared to the same period last year.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via maritime and coastal transport during the reporting period amounted to 608,400 tons, which is 32.6 percent less compared to the same period of last year.

The August’s cargo transportation volume amounted to 122,640 tons, which also is 41.3 percent less year-on-year.

Cargo turnover amounted to 35.1 million ton-kilometers which is 4.06 times more than during the same period of last year. Cargo turnover in August amounted to 10.08 million ton-kilometers which is 4.1 times more than during August last year.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 13.9 million tenges ($32,868) over eight months of 2020, which is 46 percent less than during the same period of last year. August’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 3 million tenges ($7,093), which is 72.2 percent less compared to the same month last year.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 26,280 people, which is 29.8 percent less than during the same period of last year. The number of passengers transported in August amounted to 6,190 people, which is 53.9 percent less than in the same month last year.
