Kazakhstan's revenues from road cargo transportation down

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 40.4 billion tenge ($93.5 million) from January through March 2021, which is 3.2 percent less than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport in Mar. 2021 amounted to 15.05 billion tenge ($34.7 million), which is 13.3 percent less than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 652.6 million tons, which is 3.4 percent less compared to the same period of last year (212.1 million tons in Mar. 2021, down by 0.1 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 32.1 billion ton-kilometers which is 3.8 percent less than during the same period of last year (10.3 billion in Mar. 2021, an increase of 0.2 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 19.9 billion tenge ($46.07 million) over the reporting period of 2021, which is 15.4 percent less than during the same period of last year. March’s revenue from passenger transportation was 7.2 billion tenge ($16.6 million), which is the same volume as in Mar. 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 1.2 billion people, which is 76.7 percent less than during the same period of last year (461.4 million passengers in Mar. 2021, down by 73 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 14.04 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease of 76.1 percent. The passenger turnover in Mar. was 5.1 billion (71.7 percent decrease year-on-year).
