Iran unveils data on activities of west ports of Hormozgan Province

About 2.38 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the west ports of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), Director of Ports and Maritime Office of Bandar Lengeh port Ghasem Askari Nasab said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

According to the director, this is an increase of 137 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Askari Nasab added that 1.56 million tons of oil products and 825,000 tons of non-oil products were loaded and unloaded in the west ports of the Hormozgan Province within the 3 months.

“The loading and unloading of non-oil products increased by 75 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. These products were fruits, vegetables, sweet stuff, mining minerals, and construction materials, which were exported to countries around the Persian Gulf,” he said.

As reported, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.12 million tons were loaded and 5.47 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
