BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. Car transit through Iran’s Shahid Bahonar port in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 354 percent during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director of Shahid Bahonar Ports and Maritime Department, Hamid Reza Mohammad Hosseini said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
According to Mohammad Hosseini, overall, 3,064 cars were transited through this port within the mentioned period.
Of this, 1,556 units were transited in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2022) alone.
“Meanwhile, in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), car transit through Shahid Bahonar port amounted to 1,508 units,” he said.
The director also added that in total, 3,389 cars were unloaded at this port within 7 months.
Mohammad Hosseini noted that cars were transited from the UAE to Iraq and Central Asian countries.
