Tengizchevroil LLP produced 21.4 million tons of oil at the Tengiz field in January-September 2017.
"In 2008, the company completed the Sour Gas Injection Project and the Second Generation Plant. As a result, the field's daily oil and natural gas production reached nearly 75,000 tons of oil (600,000 barrels) and 22 million cubic meters of gas (750 million cubic feet), respectively," Kazakh media reported, citing the company.
From January to September 2017, the crude oil production on the Tengiz field amounted to 21.4 million tons (171 million barrels). As compared to the same period of 2016, the production has slightly increased, - 20.3 million tons of oil (160 million barrels) was produced in January-September last year.
"From January to September 2017, the company sold more than 1 million tons of liquefied gas, 5.52 billion cubic meters of natural gas, as well as 1.85 million tons of sulfur," the report reads.
During the report period, direct payments to the Kazakh state amounted to more than $5.9 billion.
Currently, Tengizchevroil produces 26-27 million tons of oil at the Tengiz field yearly. After Tengizchevroil's capacity expansion at Tengiz, the production rate will reach 39 million tons a year.
A hundred and thirty wells have been drilled on the field, and bringing-in of 100 more wells is planned by 2022.
