New emblem and flag of Astana city have been approved today at a snap session of the capital's maslikhat, reported Kazinform.
Author of the concept and design of a new emblem is President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. Central element of the emblem represents an image of two symbols Ц Baiterek and Shanyrak Ц reflecting vector of modern KazakhstanТs development.
New flag is conceptually linked to the emblem. The emblem throwing out gold rays against the blue sky is placed into the center of the flag.
