Police identifies man who sold launcher to Kazakh terrorist

Police has identified a man who sold a grenade launcher to the man who committed an explosion in Kazakh city of Taraz, KAZINFORM reported referring to spokesman for the Kazakh Minister of Internal Affairs Nurdilda Oraz.

"Further investigation is underway," Oraz said at a news conference on Wednesday

Terrorist attack happened in Taraz on November 12 killing seven people, including five police officers. The criminal blew himself up during apprehension. Later Kazakh police identified the terrorist as Kazakh citizen Maksat Kariyev.

Oraz denied reports reportedly the weapon was acquired in Kyrgyzstan

According to Kazakh media reports, one of the versions of the law-enforcement authorities of Zhambyl oblast was that grenade launcher exploded in Taraz had been brought from one of the neighboring countries, Kyrgyzstan in particular.
