BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Kazakhstan and India have agreed to exchange the list of goods to increase mutual export-import operations, Trend reports citing the government of Kazakhstan.

The agreements have been reached following the results of the 14th meeting of the Kazakhstan-India Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, Industrial, and Cultural Cooperation, held in India's New Delhi.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov is the co-chairman of the IGC from the Kazakh side. The Indian side was led by the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, and Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Republic of India Hardeep Singh Puri.

Thus, Kazakhstan and India came to an agreement to exchange an item list to boost mutual exports and imports, as well as voiced the need to deepen linkages between the export agencies of the two countries for centralized seller-buyer relations.

The agro-industrial complex is one of the most promising sectors fostering trade. During the session of the IGC, Kazakhstan and India decided to further simplify formalities in bilateral agricultural trade. Thus, the sides agreed on the movement of regulated products between countries, subject to phytosanitary requirements. The agreement is supposed to facilitate the expansion of mutual supplies of agricultural products.

The Kazakh side also expressed its willingness to cooperate on increasing the supply of Indian sugar to Kazakhstan.
