Turkmen President to discuss trade with United Arab Emirates

Turkmen President Gurbanguli Berdimukhamedov accepted the credential from the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates Khassan Al Adab Al Zarouni, who presented an invitation from his state government to visit the UAE, Turkmen government reported.

Turkmen President Gurbanguli Berdimukhamedov accepted the credential from the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates Khassan Al Adab Al Zarouni, who presented an invitation from his state government to visit the UAE, Turkmen government reported.
Following greetings to the UAE government, the Turkmen president stated his intentions to visit UAE soon according to the information.

In addition, the supreme leader underlined the "traditionally friendly, constructive relations between the two countries initially constructed upon equality, mutual respect and goodwill principles.

The diplomat passed the message of greeting from the president of UAE Khalif Bin Zaed Al-Nakhayan, the vice-president and the prime-minister of UAE, the governor of Dubai Sheikh Mukhammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktum and the deputy commander of UAE armed forces, Prince Royal of Abu Dhabi emirate Sheikh Mukahmmad Bin Zeid Al Nakhayan.

An exchange of views on the prospects of bilateral cooperation took place during the meeting. The interlocutors noted the considerable potential for progressive broadening of economic and trade relations and activation of productive business contacts in wider range of fields.
Turkmenistan and UAE are currently cooperating in the fuel and energy sector, investment field, town building and trade. Companies from the country are involved mostly in oil-gas field.

Dragon Oil is functioning in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea as part of the Agreement on Partition of Production. Petrofac has received an order on conduction of services in the development of the largest gas deposit in Galkhinish situated in the Mariy area. Moreover the Mubadala Company is processing negotiations on prospects of cooperation in the Caspian Sea.

Projects in the communication field are being studied and in the particular Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) from the UAE which is one of the major mobile operators in the world (over 100 million of subscribers) is considering the local market.
