Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan to hold business talks

The next meeting of the Turkmen-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural cooperation will be held on Sept. 26-27 in Tashkent, the Turkmen government said in a message Sept. 24.
Trade and economic relations, cooperation in the transit and transportation sphere, agriculture and water industry, engineering, chemical industry are planned to be discussed during the meeting.
Energy sphere was listed as one of the strategic directions of partnership. Turkmenistan supplies natural gas to China through Uzbekistan since 2009.
Currently, the two countries also discuss the project on creation of the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman transportation route. It will allow significantly increasing international transit freight traffic and ensuring the new communication corridor to global markets.
