Uzbekistan's GDP up for 9M2020

The growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan from January through September 2020 amounted to 0.4 percent against 5.9 percent in the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

From January through September 2020, the volume of industrial production in Uzbekistan decreased by 2.7 percent against 5.3 percent in the same period in 2019.

The growth rates of the volume of services provided for 9M2020 amounted to 1.8 percent (12.7 percent in 2019), construction works - 8.6 percent (24.2 percent), retail turnover - 0.2 percent (7 percent), and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries - 3.4 percent (2.2 percent).

From January through September 2020, cargo turnover decreased by 6.7 percent, and passenger turnover decreased by 16.3 percent.

Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover fell by 12 percent for 9M2020, as well as exports and imports by 6 percent and 16.5 percent, respectively.

As of October 1, 2020, 483,492 enterprises and organizations are registered in Uzbekistan. The number of operating organizations amounts to 454,939.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the real growth rates of the total income of the population decreased by 0.3 percent in the reporting period.

As of October 1, 2020, the resident population of Uzbekistan amounted to 34 million people.
