The Governor's office of Tokyo province made donations to Iran's quake-stricken regions, IRNA reported.

In a humanitarian gesture, the deputy of Tokyo province governor Aki Yama attended the Iranian embassy in Tokyo to present 50,000 dollars of donations to quake-stricken areas in Iran's East Azarbaijan province.

He also voiced the sympathy of the Japanese government and nation with the survivors of the quake and hoped the reconstruction procedures in the damaged areas would be completed soon.

He also expressed gratitude for the aids Iran rendered to Japan following the earthquake and tsunami which hit the country last year.

Iran's ambassador to Japan Reza Nazar-Ahari thanked the Tokyo province officials for their humanitarian move and expressed happiness over the friendly ties existing between the two nations.

The ambassador further highlighted the importance of exchanging experiences in areas pertaining to preventing and confronting natural disasters.
