(mobilemag) - Up until now, the "Walkman" moniker on a Sony Ericsson cell phone exuded a certain level of exclusivity, but now that XE Mobile is offering the W300 to its members on a pay-as-you-go basis, Walkman phones will become much more mainstream. In fact, this is the first Sony Ericsson Walkman Phone to be made available on a prepaid plan. Of course, it's far from being near the top of the range -- W850, W900, and so on -- but it's got all that great music playing functionality that you've come to know and lust after.
As a refresher, the Sony Ericsson W300 is a quad-band GSM/EDGE clamshell with a VGA camera, 128 x 168 color TFT primary display, 101 x 80 external display, Bluetooth, RDS FM radio, and Memory Stick Micro (M2) expansion slot (ships with a 256MB, upgradable to 1GB). The direct music keys and flight mode complete the head-bobbing experience, reports Trend.
The W300 Walkman Phone will be available from XE Mobile for $99.99. Rates start at just 10 cents per minute.
