Iran installs 29 solar panels in Baneh County

Some 29 solar panels were installed in the villages of Baneh County of Iran’s north-western Kordestan Province during the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), Osman Salehzadeh, director of the Baneh County Water and Natural Resources Organization, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Salehzadeh, solar panels have been installed in border zones of the county, as well as in hardly accessible villages.

Salehzadeh added that residents of the villages used fossils and trees to provide themselves with light and heat.

"Solar panels are the easiest and most cost-efficient tools for meeting the needs of the population," he said.

Salehzadeh said that in the near future 14 more solar panels will be installed in the district villages, solar panels will help to preserve the environment.

Baneh County of Kordestan Province is located on Iran’s border with Iraq. The county has a population of 110,000 people.
