Iran discloses export volume of mining materials

The export volume of mining materials increased by about 16 percent during the first month of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019) compared to the same month of last year, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

Iran exported 4.34 million tons of mining materials worth over $503 million during the first month of this Iranian year. The export value declined by 17 percent during the first month of this Iranian year compared to the same month of last year.

Among the most exported products were cement (1.5 million tons), metal ore, concentrate pellet (1.29 million tons), steel and steel products (590 tons), various stones (358,000 tons), copper and copper products (27,000 tons) and coal (29,000 tons) during the reporting period.

During the reporting period, the export value of steel reached $224 million, metal ores, concentrate pellet - $81 million, copper - $43 million, cement - $28.5 million and aluminium - $6.7 million.

During the first month, 222,000 tons of mining materials were imported, which is 5 percent less compared to the same month of last year.

Moreover, import value reached around $180 million during the first month, which is 9 percent less compared to the same month of last year.

Among the most imported products were coal (85,000 tons), steel and steel products (49,000 tons) and alumina powder (31,000 tons) during the reporting period.
