а) Oil and gas production
In January-April Azerbaijan produced over 16.65 million tons of oil and condensate, which is 4.9 percent more compared to the figure in January-April of 2009, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan said.
The main part of oil production in January-April fell to Azerbaijan International Operating Company, which produced 13.9 million tons of oil and condensate at the block of fields "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" (ACG) and gas condensate field Shah Deniz. This figure is 6 percent more than similar figure of 2009.
Gas production in January-April in Azerbaijan amounted to about 8.75 billion cubic meters, which is 9.3 percent more than the same period of 2009. Some 3.7 billion cubic meters of gas fell to the "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" and the "Shah Deniz" field. This figure is 6.9 percent less than in January-April of 2009
b) Refinery
In January-April 2010, Azerbaijan produced 2.1 million tons of oil products compared to about 2 at the same period of 2009, SOCAR, which owns two refineries, reported.
The bulk volume of production fell to diesel fuel -827,850 tons compared to 699,790 tons at the same period of 2009.
In 2009, the ORP's refined about 6.03 million tons of oil compared to 7.35 million in 2008. This year, SOCAR plans to refine 6.15 million tons of oil.
Oil products are produced at two Baku refineries with capacity of 20 million tons of oil per year. Two refineries enter SOCAR annually processing 7 million tons of oil extracted onshore and offshore owing to own funds.
Of the total amount of oil, which is planned to refine in 2010, 4.35 million of oil will be shipped for processing at the Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev and the remaining 1.8 million tons - Azneftyag.

The country produced 85 tons of porous polyurethane plates and strips, which was similar to previous years. Growth is also observed in the production of plastic dishes - 9.9 tons total, which is 57.1 percent more compared to the same period of 2009.
3. Power engineering
In January-April Azerbaijan produced about 6.87 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is 8.5 percent less compared to the same period of 2009.
Over 5.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electric power fall on thermoelectric power stations and 1.3 billion kilowatt-hours - on hydro electric power stations of total volume of electric power generated in January-April.
Azerenergy generated about 1.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electric power in April.
Cross-flow of electric power was continued with neighboring countries, including Russia, Iran, Turkey and Georgia in April.
