The actual revenue in the revenue part of Azerbaijan's state budget amounted to 11.371.4 billion manat in January-July 2013 (35.2 percent of GDP) increasing by 17.5 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
State budget expenditures increased by 18.8 percent to 10.224.2 billion manat (31.7 percent of GDP). The budget surplus for Jan.-July amounted to 1.147.2 billion manat, which made up 3.6 percent of GDP. It increased by 6.67 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
Some 4.104.7 billion manat (36.1 percent) in the structure of revenues is ensured by the Ministry of Taxes. Revenues from customs duties and taxes amounted to 764 million manat (6.7 percent), from other sources - 6.502.7 billion manat (57.2 percent).
Tax collections increased by 7.6 percent, the customs duties - by 14.9 percent and revenues from other sources - by 25 percent compared to the same period of last year.
During the reporting period, 1.498.3 billion manat were received from VAT collection, which represents 13.2 percent of total income; profit tax revenues amounted to 1.683.6 billion manat (14.8 percent), income tax - 476.2 million manat (4.2 percent), excise tax - 343.6 million manat (3 percent), property tax - 69.3 million manat (0.6 percent), land tax - 17.7 million manat (0.2 percent), tax on mineral resources - 70.5 million manat (0.6 percent), and the tax on foreign economic activity - 377.1 million manat (3.3 percent).
Some 1.025.3 billion manat of the budget (with a share of 10 percent) was directed to social security and protection of the population; education - 769.8 million manat (7.5 percent), health care - 315.1 million manat (3.1 percent), maintenance of the prosecution, security, law enforcement, judicial bodies - 513.9 million manat (5 percent), investments in the economy - 4.540.2 billion manat (44.4 percent).
Some 1.983.6 billion manat (19.4 percent) of public expenditures was spent on payment of salaries, pensions and benefits.
