Georgia, Tbilisi, 31 January / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / The Georgian Parliament appointed Eka Tkeshelashvili as the General Prosecutor. About 144 MPs unanimously voted for.
Michael Saakashvili Georgian President stated that the appointment of the first woman in the CIS countries to Prosecutor position allows the system to take more human decisions in the future.
Nino Burjanadze, the Speaker of Georgian Parliament, expressed confidence that the situation in the country would be improved after appointing of Tkeshelashvili as a Prosecutor.
Tkeshelashvili thanked the Parliament and expressed confidence that she can justify hopes both MPs and Georgia.
