Georgian MP Offers to Rename Pushkin Public Garden to Warsaw in Centre of Tbilisi

Georgia, Tbilisi, 7 November / Trend corr. N.Kirtzkhalia / There is an offer in Georgia to rename all streets, connected with Russia. The National Education Union of Georgia applied to the Tbilisi self-government body - Sakrebulo with this demand.

The Union demands to rename Moscow avenue and St.-Petersburg Street. Members of the Union demands to rename these streets to Tzkhinvali and Akhalgori. Tzkhinvali and Akhalgori are under the Russian occupation.

Writer Nugzar Tziklauri, MP of the Georgian Parliament from majority, followed the Union. He demands from Sakrebulo to rename Pushkin public garden in centre of Tbilisi, as well.

Tziklauri thinks this public garden should be renamed to Warsaw. "We should have the Russian poet's public garden in the center of the city. We should name the public garden in honor of Warsaw, which has supported us and rendered all kinds of aid since the day of the Russian aggression," Tziklauri stressed.
