Autumn conscription began in Georgia on August 1 which will last till December 31. Some 9,522 people aged 18-27 will be conscripted according to the Georgian president's decree "On autumn conscription 2012".
Some 1,450 people will be conscripted to the military units of the Interior Ministry, and 1,300 people - to an external security service of the Department of Corrections.
Some 6,772 people will be conscripted to the armed forces of the Ministry of Defense.
Conscripts who have no military profession, the staff of the Ministry of Interior, contractors, employees of the Ministry of Corrections and employees of the State Protection Department are subject to conscription.
