Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili voted for the candidate from the ruling "Georgian Dream" party, Giorgi Margvelashvili, the PM told journalists after voting at the polling station with his spouse and son Bera.

Responding to the rebuke of journalists that saying for whom he voted he violated the law, Ivanishvili said that this is "not so scary" and chided the journalists for that they asked him about for whom he has voted and threw him into confusion.

Ivanishvili stressed that he voted for Georgia's future.

"The election is held in a very calm atmosphere as never before, the participants stand in queues and it must be so, as the population wants to see a new Georgia," he said.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the whole Georgian population will vote till the evening and will demonstrate civic responsibility. He expressed his hope that there will be made a right choice.

"This is an absolutely different election, the best in terms of quality and this is our greatest victory, as we returned the people the opportunity to freely express their support to one or other candidate. This is the first time when the authorities even do not try to help any candidate. This is freedom, liberation of the nation from fear," he stressed.

Ivanishvili said that the main challenge to Georgia in coming years is economy, so that there wouldn't be the poor in the country.
