The Georgian foreign ministry doesn't confirm the information on the mitigation of the visa regime for residents of Abkhazia by the United States.
"This information is untrue, but for further clarification, please contact the US Embassy," the ministry of foreign affairs of Georgia told reporters.
The US Embassy also said that the attitude of the United States to the Abkhazian passports has not changed, and the United States still considers Abkhazia and South Ossetia regions of Georgia.
The information that the US mitigated visa regime for residents of Abkhazia was spread by the de-facto Abkhazian Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Chirikba.
