Palestinian premier condemns West Bank attack
Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad Tuesday condemned an attack in the West Bank that killed four Israelis, dpa reported.
The Israelis where killed in a drive-by shooting near the southern West Bank city of Hebron. Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamist Hamas movement, took responsibility for the shooting.
"We condemn this operation, which contradicts with Palestinian interests and efforts by the Palestinian leaders to gain international support for the rights of our people," Fayyad said in a statement.
He said that even though the attack took place in an area outside the jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority that it "will do all it can to prevent repetition of such incidents."
