( ForUm ) - President Viktor Yushchenko hopes Ukraine's newly elected parliament will vote for his bill to criminalize Holocaust and Holodomor denial and told reporters in Kharkiv on Tuesday this "will be an honest act," president's press office reported
Yushchenko said this issue was important for each Ukrainian citizen. "Let us see the truth that touched each family, not yesterday's myth, not a legend," he said, insisting that the Ukrainian people must do what the Jews did to honor the Holocaust victims.
The president also urged the international community to recognize Ukraine's Soviet-era famine as genocide.
