US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived in the Iraqi capital Baghdad for an unscheduled Thursday, Iraqi state television reported

She was due to meet Iraq's Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki for talks that centre around the presence of US troops in Iraq, dpa reported.

Rice is expected to present further proposals on the withdrawal of US troops as part of ongoing negotiations between Washington and Baghdad.

Iraq reportedly wants a fixed time for the troop withdrawal.
