A woman and her three-year old son were found dead, presumed murdered, in the southern German town of Rosenheim, police said Tuesday.
Officers said they were about to launch a search for the woman's husband - but did not confirm media reports that he was the prime suspect, DPA reported.
The bodies were found at a residential block in the town.
Bayerischer Rundfunk radio reported that the woman had been beaten to death and that the child, thought to be the couple's son, had been hanged.
