Zapatero reshuffles Spanish government in surprise move
Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero will carry out an extensive cabinet reshuffle, replacing Deputy Prime Minister Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega and several other ministers, government sources said Wednesday, DPA reported.
Vega is to be replaced by Interior Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba, who will retain the interior portfolio as well, the sources said.
Health Minister Trinidad Jimenez is to replace Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos.
The announcement took the country by surprise, as Zapatero had only been expected to replace Labour Minister Celestino Corbacho on Wednesday.
