Lady Gaga captured the top prizes in the music broadcaster MTV's annual European contest on Sunday, held in Belfast for the 18th time, dpa reported.

- JUSTIN BIEBER: Best pop star, best male artist.
- THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS: Best alternative band, best appearance on the MTV show "World Stage."
- BRUNO MARS: Best newcomer, best "push" act.
- EMINEM: Best hip-hopper
- KATY PERRY: Best live act
- LINKIN PARK: Best rock band
- BIG BANG: Best World Wide Act
- QUEEN: Global Icon award
