(RIA Novosti) - Ukraine's new prime minister, Viktor Yanukovych, will attend a summit of a post-Soviet organization in Russia on August 15, a government spokesman said Friday.
Leaders of Eurasian Economic Community countries - Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Belarus - will meet on Russia's Black Sea coast to discuss a legal basis for a customs union, reports Trend.
"I am leaving on August 15 for Sochi to attend a Eurasec [event]," Yanukovych himself said during a visit to the Ukraine's Autonomous Republic of Crimea, also on the Black Sea. "We are not members of this community but will attend a meeting."
Yanukovych, who was appointed premier last Friday for a second time in his career, said Thursday that his first visit to Russia in this capacity would take place on August 15-16.
