Demand for France among Turkish job seekers lowers

The number of job seekers from Turkey in France significantly declined in the first seven months of 2020, Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) told Trend on August 17.

From January through July 2020, the number of Turkish citizens who visited France through İŞKUR to find work dropped by 87.9 percent compared to the same period of 2019. In total, 7 Turkish citizens visited France via İŞKUR over the reporting period.

In total, 5,134 Turkish citizens went abroad via İŞKUR over the reporting period, which is 53.9 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

In July 2020, 79,098 citizens were provided with jobs through this agency in Turkey.

Some 32.5 percent of the total number of employed citizens accounted for women and 67.5 percent for men.

In July 2020, 97 percent of the total number of citizens provided with jobs accounted for the private sector, İŞKUR said.

The number of unemployed in Turkey in the reporting month amounted to over 3.3 million people, 47.4 percent of whom are women, and 52.6 percent are men.
