Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Serbia Eldar Hasanov discussed the political and economic relations between Belgrade and Baku, the Tanjug news agency said Dec. 26.

During the meeting, Vucic expressed satisfaction with the operation of Azerbaijani company AzVirt, which is carrying out construction works on the Ljig-Preljina section of Corridor 11.

"Precision and speed of these works is a guarantee for other Azerbaijani companies that would like to work in Serbia in future," the PM Vucic said.

Ambassador Hasanov, for his part, invited Vucic to visit Azerbaijan in order to promote the two countries' relations, particularly in the field of economy.

He also said Serbia is a factor of peace and stability in the Balkans owing to the wise policy of Prime Minister Vucic.

The parties said the Azerbaijani companies' participation in new infrastructure projects in Serbia would be immensely important, and pointed to the great interest in cooperation in agriculture and other areas.

Accordingly, the meeting yielded an agreement on PM Vucic's visit to Azerbaijan, which would be accompanied by a business forum of the two countries' companies.

The meeting also touched on Serbia's future presidency of the OSCE.
