Forty percent of investments in Georgia's economy in 2015 accounted for Azerbaijan, read a report of Georgia's National Statistics Office.
Azerbaijan kept the leadership for investments in Georgia in 2015 by investing $542 million (an increase of 58.9 percent during the year) in the country's economy.
The UK ($198 million), the Netherlands ($111 million), Luxembourg ($87 million) and Turkey ($77 million) are also the main investors in Georgia, according to the report.
Azerbaijan has gradually increased investments in Georgia since 2012. Azerbaijan invested in that country's economy $59 million in 2012, $82 million in 2013, and $341 million in 2014.
The total investments in Georgia's economy during the year stood at $1.35 billion.
Transportation and communication ($594 million), financial sector ($191 million), construction ($129 million), industry ($91 million), energy sector ($90 million) and others are among the main investment spheres in Georgia.
